18-24 months

Jacob has entered a new clothes size! 18-24 months. He is almost 17 months old now but is quite big, and tall. I can't get my head around how fast he is growing. He is just amazing at the moment, challenging and spirited yes, and curious and getting into absolutely everything and everywhere he shouldn't be, but so loving and affectionate and open too. Everything is "what's that?" Button "what's that? A Carpet and so on and on...
You can see him storing all in his head. All the sings we are singing him are registering and he now knows the wheels on the bus, is a song about a bus and not just a song! It's a wonderful thing. He's cheeky, pulling the most ridiculous faces at the moment, laughing his head off at silly things, us and himself (always good to be able to laugh at yourself) he's clumsy, a tad sensitive and a wee bit fussy (he doesn't like wet or sticky things on his hands such as food, jelly etc..) although he does like drawing and has chalk now for his chalk board. He can do an impression of pretty much every animal, new one being a Cockerel. He know's where every part of his body is and can point to it if asked.
He chatters away all day in his adorable little baby language, he calls me 'Mama' which I love. He shouts 'Daddy' in a very bossy manner at Mike (think its becoming apparent that Jacob is an alpha male like his Daddy)
He is simply adorable. Even when he tantrums I think I'm handling it better, I even took him to Oxford St yesterday, to get him some Little Bird pyjama's, something I'd never have thought of doing a few weeks ago, due to risk of him kicking off on the tube or in the shops. And to be fair, apart from a little incident in Pret, he was an angel all day. I think I'm just learning how to deal with it, and with experience comes expertise. In the beginning you kind of freak out! Whereas now I'm just calmer & deal with the tantrum with patience (& bribery)
I started doing this blog because I was worried his life was flashing before my eyes and I was worried I'd forget all these little habits and traits he has. This is for me.
We went to Pilly's last night to help Boojie clear some of Pilly's belongings (Pilly had such a big house and there is so much stuff, boo doesn't have a clue what to do with it all!) Jacob played with Pepsi and Pingu, and was overjoyed when Boo gave him a cuddly toy of an Ant Eater, he was cuddling and smiling. Was such a beautiful sight. Pilly would have loved Jacob.
